VTLS' VITAL team is hosting a workshop at this year's Open
Repository Convention. The workshop is free, but by reservation
only so reserve your spot today by emailing moc.sltv|lativ#moc.sltv|lativ.
(vital at vtls dot com) The workshop is for all audiences with
sessions for current VITAL users, who want a better understanding
of VITAL's new features, and sessions for those with no previous
exposure to VITAL. VITAL is built on the FedoraT repository
architecture and provides extensive detailed management utilities,
enhanced indexing, advanced searching and specialized content
displays and much more.

Registration:
To register email moc.sltv|lativ#moc.sltv|lativ (vital at vtls dot com) with your name,
institution/company, and how many from your group are attending.

Workshop Schedule:

1:30-2:30 General Overview of VITAL 4.0 Features

The VITAL Access Portal: The Access Portal session
details the public web interface that allows for
simple or complex searching of objects, citation
exports, enhanced display of specialized content
types and more.

The Web-based Administrative Module: This session is
an overview of the System Administrator features. For
example, ingesting, content editing, metadata editing,
searching, reporting, authoritative lists creation, and
user and group management.

Ingestion Into the VITAL Repository: Detailed overview
of VITAL's ingestion methods including VALET, the
Administrative Module, and the Batch Tool.

2:45-3:45 In-depth discussion of VITAL's upcoming releases
This session will discuss the future of VITAL. Attendees will
review designs for upcoming features, and make suggestions
for new features.

4:00-6:00 Questions and Answers
Question and answer session and a discussion about VITAL
workflows. VITAL customers can use this opportunity to present
their implementations and compare and contrast their workflow
schema with other implementers. VTLS will be on hand to give
consultation and advice.
